Then I get the receipt back and see all that writing on it, bold, underlined, talking about “tipping is mandatory” and “it’s not my job to serve you for free.” I just sat there staring at it like… what are you even talking about??
Now I’m irritated because I DID tip. Not even a low one either. So where is this energy coming from?? You didn’t even bother to check before writing all over my receipt trying to embarrass me. That’s wild to me.
So yeah, I called her back over and made her look at it. I pointed straight at the tip and told her read it again because clearly you missed something. She got quiet real quick, but at that point I already felt played. You don’t get to come at me like that when I handled my part.
After that I scratched the tip out, left it at zero, and walked out. If 20% still gets me disrespected like that, then clearly it don’t matter what I leave anyway. Now she got nothing and a whole receipt full of her own attitude sitting right there.
